Today we met at 8:15 in the school cafeteria for « mirror time »: we shared our experiences from yesterday’s events.
At 9:00 am our groups from Track A and Track B took two different buses to go to Fjärås Bräka, a nature reserve near lake Lygern.
Groups from Track B walked in the area and worked with the water material. At 10:45 they had a guided tour with Linda, a guide. They left for Malevik at 11:30 and in the afternoon, they did field studies on the water in and around a nearby river. Then they had a 3 km walk back to school.
Groups from Track A isited Li graveyard – a site that dates back to the late Iron Age / Viking Era. They saw 120 raised stones. Linda, the guide, explaned that many people used to be buried there.
Then Linda took us to visit a different graveyard dating back to 1834 which marked a time when cholera epidemics wiped out complete villages…
At 11:30 the Track A groups left for Äskhult, a genuine 18th century village with roots in the 16th and 17th centuries.
While they were having lunch, they befriended a lovely cat.
At 3:00 pm we all gathered in the Däcket to celebrate Célia’s 14th birthday. We sang « Happy Birthday » in English, Swedish, Spanish and French. We ate a typical Swedish birthday cake called Prinsesstårta. It was really good! Célia was very happy and moved.
We spent a lovely day and we can’t wait for tomorrow!
